Cincon Electronics has recently unveiled power solutions designed specifically for the rapidly evolving Edge AI/IPC (Industrial PC) market. As artificial intelligence moves beyond large centralized servers into factory floors, transportation systems, unmanned devices and more, the demands on power supplies have changed dramatically. Cincon’s latest product portfolio answers these demands with compact size, wide-input voltage, rugged performance and high efficiency.
Key Highlights
Versatile Operation: Cincon offers a wide range of solutions, including 54-56 V DC brick modules for PoE+ use, dual-input AC/DC designs, and redundant or current-sharing configurations, delivering flexibility to designers of Edge systems.
Compact & Fanless-Friendly Design: Many of the new modules incorporate baseplate-cooling designs, enabling reliable operation inside metal chassis with limited airflow, making them well-suited for fanless or thermally constrained environments.
High Stability & Harsh-Environment Readiness: Designed for industrial-grade deployments, the power units support wide input voltage ranges, wide temperature operation, rugged shock/vibration standards (MIL-STD-810F) and full EMI/EMC compliance.
High Efficiency & Wide Input Range: Recent DC-DC converters deliver efficiencies above 90 % while supporting ultra-wide input ranges (for example, the 9-75 V input models) to serve different power rail scenarios in IPC and Edge AI applications.
Among the newest offerings from Cincon are:
- A 40 W DC-DC converter model (ECB40W18) with an input range of 8.5-160 V and efficiency ~90 %.
- A 100 W DC-DC converter (CQB100W8) supporting 9-75 V input with ~91 % efficiency.
- A 150 W variant for the same input range and efficiency class.
- New baseplate-cooled AC-DC power supplies such as the LFM series (200 W to 550 W) with input ranges from 85-264 V AC / 115-370 V DC, efficiencies up to ~94.5 %, and rugged mounting options.
These products enable system designers to reduce the cooling required for the power supply, free up chassis space for other components, and maintain strong performance in edge deployments.
As computing shifts closer to the edge, whether in industrial automation, smart transportation, remote monitoring or medical diagnostics, the power supply becomes a critical enabler of system reliability, thermal performance, and form-factor compactness. Cincon’s newer power modules respond to the following trends:
- The need for real-time, low-latency processing in localized systems rather than centralized data centers.
- Growing demand for fanless, rugged systems that can be deployed in harsh or constrained environments (e.g., rail, outdoor cabinets, unmanned systems).
- Requirement for single-module power supplies that cover wide input voltages and varied use cases, reducing design complexity and inventory burden.
- Pressure on system makers to deliver high efficiency and compact power solutions to meet sustainability, thermal and space-constrained design goals.
By aligning its power-solution portfolio to these demands, Cincon positions itself as a strong partner for manufacturers working on next-gen Edge AI devices and industrial IPCs.
