The A7508E6R from AiT Semiconductor is a Synchronous Boost DC-DC Converter that converts an input voltage of 1.1 - 5.5 V to an output voltage of 2.5 - 5.5 V. It has a switching frequency of 1.2 MHz and an efficiency of up to 92%. This converter consists of a current sense block, scope compensation, bandgap reference, start-up oscillator, power good output, pulse width modulation (PWM) logic, error amplifier, 1.2 MHz oscillator, error compensation, MOSFETs, protection circuitries, and other passive components. It minimizes the solution footprint by allowing the use of miniature, low-profile inductors and ceramic capacitors. This DC-DC converter can enter power-saving mode under light load conditions and supports a true cut-off function - when the Enable pin is enabled by an input logic low level, the device disconnects the output from the input, thereby resulting in a low shutdown current of 0.1 µA. It also includes under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-current protection (OCP), short-circuit protection (SCP), and over-temperature protection (OTP) functions for safety and reliability.

This boost converter is available in a surface-mount package that measures 3.050 x 3.000 mm and is ideal for cellular and smartphones, microprocessors and DSP Core supplies, wireless and DSL modems, electronic tags, and portable applications.
