The AP62800SJ from Diodes Incorporated is a Synchronous Buck DC-DC Converter that converts an input voltage of 4.5 - 17 V to an output voltage of 0.6 - 7 V. It provides an output current of 8 A. This converter fully integrates a 22 milli-ohms high side power MOSFET and a 10 milli-ohms low side power MOSFET to achieve a high-efficiency step-down DC-DC conversion. It minimizes the external component count due to the adoption of constant on-time (COT) control, thereby resulting in a fast transient response, easy loop stabilization, and low output voltage ripple. This DC-DC converter consists of a proprietary gate driver scheme to resist switching node ringing without sacrificing MOSFET turn-on and turn-off times, which reduces high-frequency radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise. It integrates under voltage lockout (UVLO), cycle-by-cycle valley current limit, and thermal shutdown to prevent false triggers or over-temperature-related damages.
This RoHS-compliant converter is available in a surface-mount package that measures 1.95 x 2.95 mm and is ideal for 5 V and 12 V distributed power bus supplies, television sets and monitors, white goods, and small home appliances, gaming consoles, general-purpose point-of-loads, consumer electronics, network systems, home audios, DSP, FPGA, and ASIC supply applications.
