The DCP3601NDMR from STMicroelectronics is a Synchronous Buck DC-DC Converter that converts an input voltage of 3-36 V to an output voltage of 5 V (at input voltage levels of 12 V and 24 V). It has an efficiency of up to 91%. This converter is based on a peak current mode architecture that is capable of driving a load current of up to 10 A and supports a wide input voltage range, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. It has a switching frequency of 1 MHz, which allows the use of small inductors to achieve an optimized solution size. This buck converter also incorporates an optional switching frequency dithering mechanism to improve electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance.

This DC-DC converter is equipped with a soft start circuit, an over-current protection circuit, and an over-temperature circuit, thereby preventing damage. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 2.92 x 2.80 mm. This converter is ideal for industrial 24 V bus conversion, major appliances, and smart metering applications.
