The FS1603 Series from TDK Corporation are micro-point-of-load (µPOL) Embedded DC-DC Converters that convert an input voltage of 4.5-16 V to an output voltage of 3.3-5 V. They provide an output current of up to 3 A. These DC-DC converters integrate an on-chip pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller, MOSFETs, inductors and capacitors into its extremely compact design. They have a soft-start rating of 1 V/ms. These converters have an on-time timer control of up to 330 ns and an LDO regulator output voltage of up to 5.5 V. They benefit from pprogrammable under-voltage lock-out (UVLO) and have built-in protection such as pre-biased start-up, soft-start protection, over-voltage protection, thermally compensated over-current protection with hiccup mode and a thermal shut-down with auto-recovery. These low-profile converters are available in surface-mount packages that measure 3.3 x 3.3 x 1.35 mm and are ideal for telecom and networking applications, data center, 5G, AI, industrial and storage, distributed point-of-load power architecture applications.
