The FS1606 Series from TDK Corporation is a Micro Point-of-Load DC-DC Converters that step down DC input voltages of 4.2-16 V to a DC output voltage of 0.6-5 V. These buck converters offer a continuous output current of 6 A. They are integrated with on-chip pulse-width modulation (PWM) controllers, MOSFETs, inductors, and capacitors for precise voltage regulation. These DC-DC converters provide voltage, current, and temperature telemetry using an I²C interface. They incorporate built-in protection features, including pre-biased start-up, soft-start protection, over-voltage protection, thermally compensated over-current protection with hiccup mode, and thermal shut-down with auto-recovery. These converters are available in surface-mount packages that measure 3.3 x 3.3 x 1.35 mm and are suitable for distributed point-of-load power architectures, telecom and networking, data center, 5G, AI, industrial and storage applications.
