The EVCC from Sensata Technologies is an Electric Vehicle Communication Controller that has been designed to ensure seamless integration and communication between electric vehicles and charging stations, thereby enhancing efficiency and reliability for all charging needs. It requires an input voltage of 8 - 32 V. This electronic control unit (ECU) is based on the latest generation technology that supports both CCS1 and CCS2 charging inlets with plug and charge (PnC) capability, which enables vehicles to be authenticated first and then initiate the charging process. It realizes electrical charging according to DIN SPEC 70121 and ISO 15118 standards for power line communication (PLC) with the infrastructure.
The EVCC includes a flash bootloader and a modern MICROSAR stack with all relevant application modules. It supports Phoenix’s 12 V locking, Amphenol automotive, and Rema’s inlet types. This ASIL-B-certified controller uses AUTOSAR embedded software to allow the programming of the parameters for optimal charging. It is ideal for waste and utility vehicles, trucks, buses, mining, agriculture, construction, marine, and other automotive applications.
