The FDA117GRTR from Littelfuse is a Photovoltaic MOSFET Gate Driver. It has an input reverse voltage of 5 V and dissipates a total power of 550 mW. This MOSFET driver has an open circuit voltage of 13.3 V and a short-circuit output current of 9.1 μA when driven by a 5 mA LED input. It comprises an LED that is optically coupled to a photodiode array. This gate driver provides an isolated floating output and ensures an input-to-output isolation of up to 5000 VRMS for enhanced system safety and noise immunity. It integrates turn-off circuitry to quickly discharge the MOSFET's gate when the LED input is removed, which eliminates the need for external gate discharge components.

This gate driver IC offers high solid-state reliability and has an ultra-low input control current. It complies with international safety standards and has no EMI or RFI generation due to optical isolation. This RoHS-compliant gate driver IC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 6.350 x 4.572 mm and is ideal for MOSFET driver, programmable control, process control, instrumentation, solid-state relay, isolated switching and power supply applications.
