The LYT6065C from Power Integrations is a Flyback CV/CC LED Driver IC that is ideal for isolated off-line LED drive, high-voltage flyback post regulator, and smart LED lighting applications. It requires an input voltage of 85-305 V. This driver delivers an output power of 25 W and has an efficiency of up to 94%. It has been designed to dramatically simplify the development and manufacturing of off-line LED drivers, particularly those in compact enclosures or with high efficiency requirements. This driver consists of a high-voltage switch, multi-mode quasi-resonant/CCM/DCM flyback controllers, a secondary side controller, and a FluxLink feedback link. This feedback mechanism provides a communication link and is located near the components, permitting accurate control of a secondary-side MOSFET with quasi-resonant switching of a primary-side switch to maintain high efficiency.
This RoHS-compliant LED driver is equipped with over-voltage protection, under-voltage protection, FET open gate detection, and input voltage monitoring to prevent damage to the input and output ports. It also supports thermal foldback safety to ensure that power continues to be delivered even at elevated temperatures. This driver’s design contributes to low heat dissipation and easily meets Energy Star rating and other global lighting energy efficiency regulations. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 13.43 x 9.40 mm.
