The STLUX325A from STMicroelectronics is a Digital Controller designed specifically for lighting and power conversion applications. It requires a supply voltage of 3-5.5 V. This LED driver is equipped with up to 6 programmable PWM generators, which can handle up to 3 internal/external events per SMED (State Machine Event Driven). It includes a Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) with 24-bit frame extension and configurable noise rejection filter, with reverse polarity protection on Tx/Rx lines. This IC features 4 analog comparators with internal and external references and has a 10-bit ADC (up to 8 channels) with an operational amplifier to extend resolution to a 12-bit equivalent. It is built around an advanced STM8 core that utilizes Harvard architecture with a 3-stage pipeline.
This RoHS-compliant digital controller has a 32 Kbytes flash memory with read-while-write capability and error correction code with a 1 Kbyte true data EEPROM with 15-year data retention at 85°C after 100 kcycles. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5 x 5 x 1 mm and is suitable for smart lightings such as LED, HID, and Fluorescent applications with dimming capability (PWM and/or LINEAR) and integration with sensors, digital power supply (SMPS) for PFC control, LLC, asymmetrical half-bridge, fly-back, full bridge topologies, and buck/boost single/ multi-channel synchronous rectification applications.
