The FA8C71N from Fuji Electric is a PWM Control IC designed for AC-DC converters to provide an optimal system for flyback converters. It requires an input voltage of 10-33 V and has a switching frequency of 65 kHz. This power management IC (PMIC) supports green mode functions, including intermittent switching (burst operation) and linearly reduced switching frequency, which are intended to improve efficiency and reduce power consumption during light load or standby conditions. It includes a built-in FET drive circuit with a clamping function (limited to 16V) that eliminates the need for a gate protection circuit. This PMIC also has a built-in 710 V start-up circuit that expands the input voltage range of power supplies. It benefits from overload protection and overvoltage protection circuits. This PMIC is available in a surface-mount package and is ideal for OA equipment, AC adapters, LCD TVs and industrial power supplies.
