The KTA1170GVAE-TB from Kinetic Technologies is an IEEE 802.3bt/af/at-Compliant Dual MOSFET Bridge Rectifier that has been designed for voltage rectification in power-over-ethernet (PoE) devices. It requires an input voltage of 38 V and an input power of up to 90 W. This bridge rectifier consists of two diode rectifier circuits, a low-side driver, a high-side driver, a bias, and a driver logic circuit. The on-chip active bridges of this rectifier provide a small-size solution to offer safe, low-impedance paths, which results in excellent reliability and efficiency. It senses the input channels from IN1 to IN2 or IN3 to IN4 separately and connects them to the output with the correct polarity for rectification.
This rectifier’s actively driven MOSFETs reduce the forward voltage drop and by maximizing the available voltage while providing lower power dissipation, it simplifies the power delivery (PD) design and power supply cost. It also eliminates thermal design problems, and costly heat sinks, and reduces the overall PCB board area. This RoHS-compliant bridge rectifier is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4 x 4 x 0.75 mm and is ideal for wireless LAN access points, WiMAX terminals, point-of-sale (POL) terminals, RFID terminals, thin clients, notebook computers, and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) applications.
