The DIO7164LAST5 from Dioo Microcircuits is a Low Loss Power Distribution Switch IC that has been designed for applications where precision current limiting is required or heavy capacitive loads and short circuits are encountered. It requires an input voltage of 2.7 - 5.5 V. This power switch is provided with four different continuous current levels with controlled rise and fall times for minimal current surges during switching operations. It has an over-temperature protection function with a reverse blocking feature and limits the output current to a safe level by using a constant current mode when the load current exceeds the current limit. This power switch IC is available in a surface-mount package and is ideal for USB ports/hubs, digital TV, set-top boxes, and VoIP phone applications.
