The BTF3080EJ from Infineon Technologies is an Automotive-Qualified Single-Channel Smart Low-Side Power Switch that is designed to provide embedded protective functions. This switch requires an input voltage of 3 - 5.5 V, a battery voltage of up to 40 V, and an input current of 3 A. It includes an N-channel vertical power MOSFET and 3.3 V and 5 V compatible logic input. This AEC-Q100/101 power switch offers an adjustable switching speed, a PWM switching capability 20 kHz for 10 - 90% duty cycle, and a digital latch feedback signal. It also offers a very low-power DMOS leakage current in the OFF state and DMOS turn-on capability in the inverse current situation.

This RoHS-compliant power switch IC allows high inrush currents and active freewheeling and can act as a replacement for electromechanical relays, fuses, and discrete circuits. It is monolithically integrated and has built-in overtemperature, short circuit, overcurrent, overvoltage, and ESD electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection capability. It is available in a surface-mount package that measured 4 x 2.65 mm. This power switch IC is ideal for resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads, 12 V automotive, and industrial applications.
