The INN4074C-H186 from Power Integrations is an Off-Line CV/CC ZVS Flyback Switcher IC that integrates with ClampZero family of active clamp ICs to dramatically improve the efficiency of flyback power converters, particularly those requiring a compact form-factor. This switcher IC requires an input voltage of 85-264 V and delivers an output power of 85 W. It combines a high-voltage power switch with both primary and secondary side controllers in a single device. This power switch incorporates a proprietary inductive coupling feedback mechanism to provide a safe, reliable, and cost-effective means to transmit switching requests from the secondary controller to the primary controller. It uses a unique control algorithm that enables zero voltage switching (ZVS) in both direct current mode (DCM) and continuous current mode (CCM) modes.
This switcher IC supports a steady-state switching frequency of up to 155 kHz to minimize the transformer size.
