The BV1HJ045EFJ-C from ROHM Semiconductor is an Automotive Qualified Single Channel High Side Switch IC that is ideal for resistance load, inductance load, and capacitance load in automotive applications. It requires an input voltage of 6 - 28 V and provides an output current of 5 A. This power switch includes a monolithic power management IC with a control unit (CMOS) and an N-Channel Power MOSFET. It has been designed to offer protection against surges in voltage, current, and thermal effects. This AEC-Q100-qualified switch IC integrates the over-current limit function, open load detection function, short-to-VBB detection function, and a low voltage output OFF function to prevent short-circuit or false trigger-related conditions. It consists of a built-in dual thermal shutdown (TSD) that includes junction temperature protection and sudden temperature rise protection circuits to prevent over-temperature-related damages.

This RoHS-compliant IC also provides a diagnostic detector at the output for abnormality detection. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4.9 x 6.0 x 1 mm.
