The VN751S from STMicroelectronics is a High-Side Switch Driver that has been designed for industrial applications in conformity with IEC 61131-2 programmable controller international standard. It requires an input voltage of 5.5 - 36 V. This power switch driver is developed using STMicroelectronics' VIPower technology which is intended to drive any kind of load with one side connected to the ground. It has CMOS-compatible input with an active output pin voltage clamp and current limitation feature combined with thermal shutdown and automatic restart to protect the device against overload and low energy spikes. This RoHS-compliant power switch automatically turns off in case of ground pin disconnection and consumes a very low standby current with an open drain status output. It allows fast demagnetization of inductive loads and is available in a surface mount package that measures 5.8 x 4.8 x 1.75 mm.
