The EPC7011L7SH from EPC Space is a Radiation Hardened GaN Power Stage IC that is ideal for single and multi-phase motor drivers as in reaction wheel assemblies (RWAs), momentum wheels, robotic actuators, and in half-bridge/POL power supplies such as low current single phase, high current multi-phase, and satellite electrical power system applications. It requires an input voltage of 12 V. This power management IC (PMIC) integrates an input logic interface, level shifting, bootstrap charging, gate drive buffer circuits, and eGaN output FETs in a half-bridge configuration. It incorporates independent high-side and low-side control inputs and supports synchronous charging for the high-side bootstrap supply.
This PMIC can handle a total ionizing dose of 1000 kRad and has a single event effect (SEE) immunity of 84 MeV/mg/cm2 (for LET). It provides flexible power-sequencing with active gate pull-down and switches both the FET transistors off when the control inputs are both high at the same time. This power stage IC has an internal under-voltage lockout (UVLO) circuitry to prevent false trigger events and improved thermal conductivity to prevent overheating of the IC. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 0.25 x 0.20 x 0.08 mm.
