The FOD3120 from onsemi is a High Immunity Gate Driver Optocoupler that is ideal for industrial inverter, induction heating, isolated IGBT/power MOSFET gate driver, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) applications. It requires an input voltage of 15 - 30 V. This gate driver utilizes onsemi’s coplanar packaging technology, OPTOPLANAR, and an optimized IC design to achieve high noise immunity and high common-mode rejection. It consists of a Gallium Aluminum Arsenide (GaAlAs) LED diode that is optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a high-speed driver to implement a push-pull MOSFET output stage. This driver offers fast switching speed of less than 400 ns (propagation delay) while providing a stable output. It is also equipped with an under voltage lockout (UVLO) protection to prevent false trigger-related damages and has undergone safety/regulatory approvals for high reliability. This RoHS-compliant IC is available in a through-hole package that measures 9.40 x 6.35 mm.
