The Si823H9CD-AS4 from Skyworks Solutions is an Automotive-Qualified Isolated Gate Driver that is ideal for industrial applications: power delivery, motor control, and lighting and automotive applications: on-board chargers, battery management, and electric vehicles. It requires an input voltage of 3-5.5 V. This gate driver offers a relatively higher reliability compared to opto-coupled gate drivers and is capable of driving power MOSFETs and IGBTs used in switching power and motor control applications. It combines 2 isolated gate drivers with independent or high-side/low-side outputs in a single package. This gate driver utilizes Skyworks’ proprietary Silicon isolation technology that provides an isolation voltage of up to 5 kV (RMS) for 1 minute. It also enables high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 125 kV/s and lower propagation delays and skew with little variation over temperature.
This AEC-Q100-qualified isolated gate driver’s output stage has a unique architecture that features a booster device offering a higher pull up capability at the Miller plateau region of the load power switch to support faster turn-ON times. This driver also integrates advanced protection circuits – under-voltage lockout (UVLO) fault detection, over-temperature protection (OTP), dead time programmability, and fail-safe drivers with default low. It has a deglitch function as an option to filter noise, resulting in enhanced performance. This RoHS-compliant gate driver is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5.74 x 11.25 mm.
